Nestled along the banks of the Kiskiminetas River, East Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, has long been defined by its close-knit community and traditional values. In 2023, this unassuming borough embarked on a transformative journey toward environmental sustainability, a journey marked by the ambitious installation of solar panels of our borough office building. This bold step, framed within a broader green initiative, signaled East Vandergrift’s commitment to renewable energy, stewardship of natural resources, and a cleaner, brighter future for its residents. This is the reason East Vandergrift was nominated for, and received a Lodestar Award in 2025.
